The Trustees of Benefits of Film are introducing updates to self-pay eligibility rules, effective March 1, 2025—the first day of the March calendar month. These changes are designed to better align with members’ needs while ensuring the sustainability of the benefits plan.

Under the new rules, any self-pay greater than 70 hours in a month will be considered a full self-pay. Members can still make up to 12 consecutive months of self-pay to maintain their hour bank coverage. However, to reset the 12-month self-pay count, members will now need to work at least 70 hours in one month.

These changes highlight the importance of monitoring your working hours to maintain eligibility. Working at least 70 hours in a month will ensure you can continue accessing the self-pay option and protect your hour bank coverage.
