Travel with Confidence: Out-of-Province Coverage

Q: Does the 60+ Plan cover medical expenses incurred outside of the province or country?

A: The 60+ Plan provides emergency medical coverage for necessary care while traveling outside of the province or country, with some limitations.

As Tom looked forward to spending part of his retirement traveling, he wanted to make sure he’d still be covered for medical expenses if he traveled outside of British Columbia or even out of the country.

Tom learned that the 60+ Plan provides emergency medical coverage when traveling out of province or internationally. This coverage includes reimbursement for necessary medical care in case of sudden illness or injury while traveling.

However, he also noted that the plan has certain limitations on coverage amounts and may not cover all expenses fully, so it’s advised to consider additional travel insurance for extended or international trips.

Feeling reassured, Tom appreciated having this safety net while traveling, allowing him to enjoy new experiences with peace of mind, knowing he had coverage for unexpected health issues. For Tom, this out-of-province and out-of-country support was a valuable part of his retirement plan.
