Foot Health Support to Keep You Moving

Q: Are podiatry services covered under the 60+ Plan?

A: Yes, podiatry services are covered under the 60+ Plan as part of the Paramedic Services, up to $700 per person per calendar year, with 30–70% reimbursement depending on total eligible hours worked.

Tom’s friend, Mary, had been experiencing persistent foot pain and was thinking about seeing a podiatrist for treatment. She asked Tom whether the 60+ Plan covered podiatry services to help manage her foot health.

Tom explained that podiatry care falls under the 60+ Plan’s paramedical benefits. Mary learned that the plan covers up to $700 per person, per calendar year for eligible podiatry services, with reimbursement based on the total number of eligible hours she had worked with IATSE Local 891.

According to the plan:

  • 20,000–29,999 hours: 30% reimbursement

  • 30,000–39,999 hours: 40% reimbursement

  • 40,000–49,999 hours: 50% reimbursement

  • 50,000–59,999 hours: 60% reimbursement

  • 60,000+ hours: 70% reimbursement

Knowing that podiatry services were included in her benefits—and exactly how much would be covered—gave Mary peace of mind. She could seek treatment without the fear of high out-of-pocket costs. For Tom, it was another example of how the 60+ Plan supports retirees in staying active, mobile, and well cared for.
