Conditions Covered by the Plan

Q: What critical illnesses are covered?

A: Conditions include Alzheimer’s, cancer, heart attack, stroke, and more.

Greg, a lighting technician, was recently diagnosed with early-stage prostate cancer during a routine check-up. Unsure about the financial implications of his diagnosis, he approached Tom for advice.

Tom explained, “Our Critical Illness Insurance includes coverage for early-stage prostate cancer. You’d be eligible for a lump-sum benefit, which in your case would be 25% of the full amount, or $6,250.”

Greg was relieved but still curious about other conditions the plan covered. Tom elaborated, “The plan includes major illnesses like heart attacks, strokes, kidney failure, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s. It also covers invasive cancer, severe burns, and surgeries like heart valve replacement or organ transplants. Even conditions like multiple sclerosis and ALS are included.”

Greg asked how to claim the benefit. Tom continued, “Once you’re diagnosed, you need to submit the claim form to Allstate within 30 days, along with supporting medical documentation. You’ll also need to provide proof within 90 days to process the payment.”

Reassured by Tom’s detailed explanation, Greg contacted his physician to gather the necessary documentation and submit his claim. The benefit allowed him to focus on his recovery without the added stress of financial worries. For Tom, it was another example of how the plan could make a difference in moments of need, and he encouraged others on set to familiarize themselves with its provisions.
