Ingrid Kenning
Trustee
Ingrid Kenning’s journey to becoming a Health Benefits Trustee is rooted in the same principles that have shaped her life: patience, support, and steady growth. Born in Montreal and raised on the West Coast from the age of six, Ingrid’s earliest memory is skiing between her father’s skis in the freezing Laurentians—a moment defined less by the cold and the falls, and more by the unwavering encouragement that kept her going. That early experience of being supported and believed in left a lasting impression.
Over the years, Ingrid carried that spirit into every corner of her life. She began by volunteering in her community and at her children’s school, eventually joining IATSE in the early 2000s while balancing work and raising a family. In 2013, she stepped into leadership as the Script Supervisors Department Chair—a role she continues to hold with dedication.
Ingrid has since developed policy, created an orientation program for new members, and mentored countless newcomers to the department. She’s also represented the membership at union conferences, education initiatives, and committee work, always combining participation with a willingness to listen and lead.
Her path to the Trust feels like a natural extension of her journey so far. Ingrid believes that strong, thoughtful stewardship of the Trust is essential—not only for the health of the plan, but for the wellbeing of every member it serves. She approaches her trustee role with humility, gratitude, and a deep commitment to learning, and is honoured to help guide the Trust through 2030 and beyond.
